From The Prez: Vicki Hudoba

Dear Outlaws,

Gosh, where has a year gone! It has been a challenging but rewarding time for me. I am so honored to have served as president for such an outstanding group. I have learned so much this year and have had a great opportunity to become closer to so many of you. I want to thank everyone for their support and patience.

As we end this year on a high note (our fabulous Christmas party) I look forward to seeing all of you and celebrating not only the holidays but our friendships as well. So many of us have had good news to share and celebrate, while others have had hardships and sadness. The fact that we share both the good and the bad with equal strength and encouragement of each other makes this a truly dynamic and successful chapter.

The coming year promises to be full of fun and excitement. We have many new members and lots of wonderful plans and fresh ideas in the works. I hope everyone will continue to be involved and committed as we grow and excel.

Hugs to all,

Vicki

Heart of the Family
Margaret Daley

A Christmas Conundrum
Women, Dr. Jacob Hartman knew, were a mystery. Take the first time he met social worker Hannah Smith at the Stone Refuge home for foster children. The woman stared him down as if he'd come at her with castor oil. Why? His past was full of heavy-duty heartache, but he was positive they'd never met. And as a former foster child himself, Jacob was deeply touched by how much she cared about the kids at the home, how loving she was--to everyone but him. Which was where, he figured, the mistletoe came in!

Returning home to bask in the frozen sun, the last thing Special Agent Kat Sikes wanted was for reality to intrude. But fantasies didn't get any more real than Sam Russell. With his competitive intensity urging her on, she took his racing challenge—determined to beat him at his own game. Despite the subzero temperatures, the heat between them was undeniable. A Bravo Christmas Reunion
Christine Rimmer

What brought him to her door…

…Marcus Reid couldn't say. But then Hayley Bravo opened her door, and he got a good look at her burgeoning stomach! She appeared to be about eight months along. So was this proof that she'd gotten over him fast… or that they were connected, now and forever?

Months ago Hayley had walked out on Marcus, even though it was the hardest thing she'd ever done. Because though she knew he'd do the right thing by her, she was holding out for the real thing. Love. Baby. Marriage. And apparently, in that order…

Heidi Vanlandingham’s manuscript Dimitri's Sacrifice has finaled in the paranormal category of the East Texas Romance Writer’s Southern Heat contest. Her manuscript will now be sent to Angela James of Samhain Publishing for final judging. This is Heidi’s first contest final as well as her first contest entry.

Jordan Dane’s book, No One Heard Her Scream, to be released in April of 2008, received its first review in Publisher's Weekly. Needless to say, the book was referred to as a “dynamite debut” and her style was compared to that of Lisa Jackson, Lisa Gardner and Tami Hoag.

Alicia Dean is now being represented by Meredith Bernstein.

Malena Lott has signed with Sourcebooks Casablanca (sourcebook's new romance line that launched this fall) for her second novel, Dating da Vinci. It should be released in the Fall of 2008.
Meredith Bernstein just closed a 3 book spin-off of the YA series PC Cast and her daughter, Kristin co-authored. PC is thrilled to announce it is the biggest deal of her career. She and Kristin are over the moon – and planning a research vacation to Venice!

Please join us in congratulating our members on these fantastic achievements.
