"Writing the Dreaded Synopsis."
By Merline Lovelace and Maggie Price

You're WIP is done. You've gathered all your sticky notes... even the ones with dried ice cream on the corner. You've deleted your hooker a million times and edited until you can’t stand to read it anymore. How are you ever going to cut that three hundred page manuscript down into five pages or less?

Listen and learn from Merline Lovelace and Maggie Price as they go over the basics of synopsis writing and reveal some of their word weaving magic.

Saturday, June 16th you'll want to be at Belle Isle Library to learn the ins and outs of "Writing the Dreaded Synopsis."

Hi Outlaws,

I missed seeing all of you in May and since everyone couldn’t make it to our April reception, it seems like a long time since we have all gotten together. I hope everyone is planning on attending our June meeting, which will be back at the library. Let’s fill the room, reconnect and catch up. We have so many gals with “good news” that needs further exploration. An e-mail just doesn’t do it some times. Our chapter pins will be available at our meeting thanks to Diane and Merline. They are going to look great in Dallas.

We have some members that will be attending their first national conference. I’m sure they have lots of questions and I know all of you experienced attendees will be glad to provide answers and advice. Also, everyone needs to check out the RWA website for all the latest news and plans for conference. There are plans for dinner sign-ups and movie night that should facilitate a comfortable way to network with new people on a social level

I have been asked by our national board to emphasize the importance of voting on the issues listed on the proxies sent to you recently. They must receive a vote from at least 10% of the membership, or 950 votes. Anyone not attending the AGM at national’s this year or anyone not wanting to mail in their proxy is welcome to give it to me at the June meeting. I will be attending the meeting and will turn in all proxies given to me.

Vicki

Stray
Rachel Vincent

Female werecats are disappearing from all over the south, and the Pride is helpless to find its missing members and stop the stray responsible. Confined to home for her own protection, Faythe must face everything she went to school to escape: the family she left behind, the love she turned her back on, and the destiny tradition says she's bound to fulfill. And when it all becomes too much to handle, an emotionally charged error in judgment leads her into the unsheathed claws of the stray himself. Now, armed with nothing but animal instinct and a serious attitude, Faythe must free herself and stop the kidnappers before their horrific plot robs her Pride of its most valuable asset: its own continued existence.
