From The Prez: Vicki Hudoba

Hold it right there Outlaw,

Spring has sprung and believe it or not it is April, 2007. I’m not sure, but I don’t think even a plea to our fantasy writers can slow this year down, so I’m trying to embrace it. Helping us to carry on for yet another month is our spectacular Librarian and Bookseller Reception. All of us owe our thanks to Merline Lovelace who has once again worked her magic. Our April meeting will be held at Nonna’s in Bricktown. I know that everyone will want to attend. After all, who in their right mind could turn down champagne, desserts, friends and last but not least, our biggest fans (ahem better known as our bread and butter). I know that everyone will not only have a good time but will benefit from our panel, the networking opportunities and the champagne.

I hope everyone comes to our meeting with a question or suggestion to pose to our guests that will promote the buying, selling and undying longing for more romance. This is our opportunity to “pick the brains” of our readership from all across our great state.

As a chapter we have had such a deluge of good news lately. Let’s face it we are on fire! How thrilling to be a part of a gang of hotties like the Outlaws. Can’t wait to toast you all, see you at Nonna’s,

Vicki

The Right Twin
Laura Marie Altom

Sarah Connelly knows that being an identical twin can have its advantages, but lately those advantages have been working more for her sister than they have for her. When an emergency calls her twin away, Sarah agrees to run her sister's successful inn for a weekend. Shouldn't be too hard, right?
But when she meets Heath Brown, one of the guests, Sarah realizes the weekend is going to be a lot more complicated than she expected. Heath is perfect for her—smart, handsome, sexy….
What Sarah doesn't know is that Heath has some secrets of his own. Secrets that aren't too different from hers!

Once Upon a Family
Margaret Daley

As the local high school principal, Peter Stone knew troubled student Sean Williams needed his expert assistance. And as a Christian, Peter knew God was leading him to help. Yet it was the boy's mother who captured Peter's notice.
Laura, a widow caring for her four children and ailing aunt, had no time for romance or religion. Somehow, despite her protests, Laura found herself and her brood frequent visitors to Peter's ranch and the church he attended. Soon it seemed her family was meant to complete Peter's life.

Ex Marks The Spot
Merline Lovelace

Forced to leave her beloved military life behind at the ripe old age of thirty-seven, USAF Colonel Andrea (Andi) Armstrong comes to the Florida panhandle for a fresh start. Little did she know—at least until that auspicious knock on her next-door neighbor's door—that there were some things about her old life she wasn't quite finished with yet.

And evidently, if the expression on his love-struck face was any indication, her ex-husband, Colonel Dave Armstrong—aka said next-door neighbor—wasn't quite finished with her yet either. Hmm. Who was it who said the best is yet to come? Maybe there was something to that after all….

The Survivors
Dinah McCall

The search for survivors becomes a race against time -- and a killer

When a passenger plane goes down in the Appalachians, rescue teams start looking for the survivors and discover that a five-year-old boy and a woman are missing. Twenty miles from the crash site, Deborah Sanborn has a vision of two survivors, cold, hurting and scared. Over the years she has learned to trust her gift, and she senses these strangers are in terrible danger. She sees a hunter, moving in for the kill.

Four generations of O'Ryan men have gathered at the crash site, ready to search for the missing boy, Johnny O'Ryan. Mike O'Ryan isn't sure what to make of Deborah, but with the snow coming down, she's all they've got to lead them through the mountains. Because not only are they racing against time and the elements . . . they're up against a killer desperate to silence his only living witness to murder.
